The guests arrived the day before the wedding and were greeted with a welcome dinner featuring all the classic Italian favorites from the region and beyond. Local cheese and salumi, antipasti, pizza, grilled meats and gelato, of course. Italian comfort food. It was a warm embrace of family and friends who had traveled from far and wide to celebrate with the couple.
Below are more spectacular photos just begging to be seen. The whole area was a feast for the eyes and a post card waiting to be captured. Man and nature joined together perfectly to form the rich architectural history of Orvieto combined with the natural beauty of the verdant countryside spanning out in all directions.
Hala is Lebanese and Stefano is Roman but they live in London. The Lebanese are always so warm and stylish and arrive ready to celebrate. It is a special moment in the lives of the couple to be sure and the guests are always happy and smiling but there is just always something particularly joyous and sunny about the Lebanese. The wedding was celebrated over 2 days from the welcome dinner BBQ in the countryside, the wedding day which all took place at an incredible Medieval monastery that has been converted to a hotel. And although it has been converted into a hotel the monastery has maintained a consecrated Catholic church in the center of it all.
As mentioned earlier there was a DIY tiara station during the cocktail hour. The florist had prepared unadorned head wreaths where the guests could compose their own using vases of loose flowers on hand for the occasion. It was so charming and the women looked wonderful. After the cocktail hour which was on the lawn behind the church with view of Orvieto, the guests moved to the dinner and dancing area which were in the spectacular in the ruins of an ancient church.
